Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who desires to teach how to manage and control aggression and violent behaviour to other trainers in the private security sector.


Entry Requirements
Proof of identification (passport or drivers licence) is a requirement along with proof of address. Qualifications or experience in your skill is needed to partake in this

Assessment and Certification
You will be assessed on one written assignment and one practical assessment. Upon course completion you will be awarded the Physical Intervention Level 3 certificate which is nationally recognised as part of your SIA License.

More about this course
The course will teach you how to explain the factors that are vital to the effective and safe delivery of physical intervention skills. The elements of this course will demonstrate how to assess the training environment, the methods of how to reduce risks in physical intervention training, ensure all participants are physically fit and able to take part safely and accordingly.  Teachers must be able to explain different factors that are critical to the effective and safe delivering of physical intervention skills. You will also learn how to plan a Physical Intervention lesson which bides by the rules of SIA Physical Intervention syllabus.

Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training in the Private Security Industry (QCF) Unit Mandatory units Credit Level

  • Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
  • Delivering Physical Intervention Skills Training
  • Examine the requirements of Health and Safety statute and associated Regulations and show how they apply to physical restraint.
