CTTLS, Certificate Teaching in Life Long Learning

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who desires to teach to one or more individuals whether it is delivered in a classroom or at a business premises. CTLLS stands for ‘Certificate to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector’ and it is a required qualification that allows you to pass the necessary regulation to teach.


Entry Requirements

Qualifications or experience in your skill is needed to partake in this course along with associate teacher experience. You also need Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification.

Proof of identification (passport or drivers licence) is a requirement along with proof of address.

Assessment and Certification

You will be assessed by two assignments for each unit within the course, giving a total of six assignments. Upon course completion the CTLLS certificate will be issued giving you the opportunity to go on to DTLLS or Qualified Teacher status.

More about this course
On our CTLLS course you will identity the main roles of teaching to adults. This includes how to plan a lesson, encourage and involve all students to motivate their studies and learning, how to assess your learners progression using different methods and the significance of record keeping this progress.
You will be playing a vital role to your students so the right ability for this is important. After course completion you will be issued with a national CTLLS certificate which allows you to help with training or teaching or desire employment as an associate or full teacher for adults.
After you have obtained your CTLLS qualification you can go on DTLLS or Qualified Teacher status.
Course Content

  • Negotiate appropriate individual goals with learners
  • Planning lessons
  • Teaching and learning strategies and resources to meet curriculum requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the minimum core in own practice
  • Different methods of assessment regarding the learners progress
  • How to record and evaluation the learners progress
